Brahms, Tchaikovsky & Mozart
Composed in 1878–79, Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 1 in G major, Op. 78 is known as the "Regen" ("Rain") Sonata for its connection to his songs about rain. It is a warm, intimate work that emphasizes expressive dialogue between violin and piano.
Adapted from Tchaikovsky's famous 1892 ballet, The Nutcracker Suite brings together some of its best-loved dances and melodies. The piano version preserves the charm, fantasy, and brilliance of the original.
Written in 1786 for clarinet, viola, and piano, Mozart's Kegelstatt Trio, K. 498 is celebrated for its elegant interplay between the three instruments. Its nickname comes from the story that Mozart composed it while playing skittles.
