Klanglust Chamber Orchestra

 Founded in 1997, the name of the ensemble has always been an obligation: the joy of sound and lustful, inspired as well as technically perfect music-making are the central aspects of the interpretations of the chamber orchestra KlangLust!. The members of the ensemble are active and former members of the youth symphony orchestra "Die Jungen Fürther Streichhölzer", as well as music students and professional musicians. KlangLust! performs throughout Franconia and is a sought-after orchestra for the accompaniment of passions, oratorios and masses. 

Warlock’s Capriol Suite (1926) draws on Renaissance dance tunes, reimagining them with 20th-century harmony and colour. Its rhythmic vitality and sharp contrasts make it a perennial favourite. Händel’s Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 1 exemplifies Baroque grandeur, balancing intricate counterpoint with lyrical warmth in the Corellian tradition.

Mozart’s youthful Divertimento in F major, K. 138, composed at just 16, sparkles with charm and clarity, bridging symphonic ambition and chamber intimacy. Grieg’s Two Melodies offer tender miniatures, blending folk-inflected themes with lush Romantic harmony.

The programme concludes with Grieg’s spirited Holberg Suite, written to honour playwright Ludvig Holberg. Though composed in the Romantic era, it channels Baroque dance forms with Nordic flair. Its blend of elegance, humour, and heartfelt lyricism offers a joyful and fitting close to this stylistically rich concert.
